Check-ins and daily recaps
What is the difference?
A check-in records how you feel at a particular moment. You can save more than one each day, and those check-ins automatically form the date’s editable daily recap. Daily notes are optional. Symptom episodes record a time, severity and optional context. The day view can summarize how saved symptom ratings changed; it does not estimate missing moments or create new entries.
Do I have to fill everything in?
No. Every field is optional. A blank field stays unrecorded; a symptom recorded as zero means none. You can record sleep quality without knowing the number of hours, or connect Apple Health.
How do I change what I track?
Open Settings, then Your journal, to manage trackers. Search 78 built-in symptom trackers, add unlimited custom trackers, hide items or change their order. Renaming keeps a tracker’s history. Archiving removes it from new check-ins but keeps its earlier records.
Where did the Settings options go?
Settings opens six sections: Your journal, Check-in reminders, Appearance, Apple Health, Backups & exports, and Privacy & support. Feltide Pro appears prominently there too, and remains an optional lifetime purchase.
Apple Health
Why are sleep or steps missing?
Check that Health contains the measurement, review Feltide’s permissions there, and open Settings, then Apple Health, to choose a sleep source, opt into body-weight imports, or refresh measurements. Apple Health does not tell apps whether access was denied, so a blank value does not mean zero.
Can I choose a manual value?
Yes. Feltide keeps imported and manual values separate. Use the day’s source control to choose one. If you choose Apple Health and no import is available, the value stays unrecorded. Your manual entry is not erased.
Backups and moving devices
How do I keep a safe copy?
In Settings, choose Create encrypted backup. Set a password, save the file outside Feltide and keep the password separately. Make a new backup before deleting the app or changing devices. The local journal is excluded from iPhone backups.
How do I restore?
Choose Restore a backup in Settings, select the file and enter its password. Feltide decrypts and checks the file before showing a preview. Restoring replaces the journal on that device, so back up the current journal first if you want to keep it.
Can you recover a lost password or key?
No. Runeworks does not have your database key or backup password. Feltide will not replace an inaccessible database with an empty journal. You can restore a valid encrypted backup if you know its password.
Are reports encrypted?
CSV and PDF exports are readable reports. Share them only with people or services you choose. Feltide’s portable backup is a different file, encrypted using your backup password.
Medicines and reminders
Open Medicines from Today or Settings. Save a name, optional dose wording, and one or more daily times. Turn on reminders if you want local notifications; Feltide asks for permission when you save.
Mark a scheduled dose taken or skipped only when you choose. A blank dose stays unrecorded. Saved records keep the medicine name, dose wording and scheduled time even if you later edit or archive the medicine. The recorded timestamp shows when you marked it taken or skipped, not when you took the medicine.
Reminders help you keep your own schedule. Feltide does not recommend medicines or doses. It currently supports daily schedules, not variable or as-needed schedules.
Optional body weight
Add Body weight under Settings → Your journal only if it is useful to you. Choose kg or lb; changing the display unit preserves saved measurements. If Apple Health is connected, its separate Import body weight option is off by default. When enabled, Feltide imports the latest measurement recorded on each date, stores kilograms and shows your chosen unit. There are no weight goals, BMI scores or targets.
Understanding patterns
Which Patterns features are free?
All of them. Full-history trends, chart overlays, comparisons, group averages and following-day analysis are free. Comparisons show the factor groups, difference, date range and day counts once enough days are recorded.
Why do some comparisons need more days?
A comparison needs at least five eligible days in each recorded factor group. Unrecorded fields are left out. “Following day” means the next calendar date, even if that date has no entries. A comparison can show an association, but it cannot prove cause or identify a trigger.
What does recorded peak mean?
For a symptom, recorded peak is the highest severity recorded in the day’s recap, check-ins or symptom episodes. It is a summary of your entries, not an estimate of unrecorded moments. An association in Patterns does not prove a cause or provide a diagnosis.
Feltide Pro
What is the one-time purchase?
Pro is a $4.99 lifetime purchase. It adds Moss, Dusk, Ember and Tide themes, matching icons, customizable widgets and removal of support cards. All health features, including every Patterns comparison, stay free. The App Store shows your local price before purchase. Pro may be unavailable during beta.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Feltide Pro from Settings and choose Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple account used for the purchase. A pending purchase may need to finish with Apple first. Temporary connection problems do not intentionally remove an established unlock. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s purchase support.
